Naturopathic Medicine

About Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic medicine emphasizes prevention and the self-healing process through the use of natural therapies. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) blend centuries-old knowledge and a philosophy that nature is the most effective healer with up-to-date research on natural therapies, health and disease. The therapies used in naturopathic medicine integrate conventional, scientific and empirical methods with the ancient laws of nature and follow these guiding principles:

  • First Do No Harm
  • The Healing Power of Nature
  • Discover and Treat the Cause, Not Just the Effect
  • Treat the Whole Person
  • The Physician is a Teacher
  • Prevention is the best “cure”
hero

A visit with a Naturopathic Doctor combines the best of both worlds – medicine supported by scientific evidence and the gentle approach of a holistic practitioner. During your initial visit with Dr. Tracy or Dr. Woodall, they will take the time to listen to your personal health history and evaluate your current symptoms. They will create a plan for you with dietary or lifestyle changes, herbal medicines, homeopathy, or vitamins and may also recommend laboratory testing at this time to further investigate your symptoms.

Lab Testing

To identify the root cause of your symptoms, progressive and specialty lab tests may be needed to augment conventional lab tests you may have already had with your primary care doctor or other specialists. These tests help Dr. Tracy and Dr. Woodall find underlying nutritional and metabolic deficiencies or toxicities that are impacting your health. Here are some examples of tests we offer:
